Learn To Skate USA

Learn to Skate USA is a program designed to give new skaters the very best start to discovering a new sport, whether it be hockey, figure skating or speed skating. This is the place to start!

Here at PBIW, we offer 4 week courses during the summer and 8 week courses during the winter months.

Please click here for more information about the Winter 2018 Learn to Skate program, starting in January!

Frequently Asked Questions:

What do I need to be ready for my first lesson?

Arrive at the rink 30 mins before class to fill out paperwork, get sized for skates, lace up and be ready for the pre-class warm up. Use the restroom before class. We suggest that skaters bring warm clothing. Helmets (not provided) are necessary for beginners at levels Snowplow 1 thru Basic 2. We request that parents watch from the stands or the concessions area.

If I miss a class do I get a refund or make-up class?

PBIW do not offer refunds for the Skate School program, however if you miss a class during your 8 week session, we do allow for ONE make up class per skater.

When do I pay?

You may pay in person at the front desk or by phone prior to arriving for your first lesson. Application forms are always available in our lobby area.

In addition to the course fee, skaters must register with Learn to Skate USA. We ask that skaters register BEFORE attending their first class. There is a once annual fee of $12 for registration – please visit for information and registration. This membership includes:
